@chillboxsa is now one of my top 3 favorite froyo places here in Jeddah!
For my first impression, I thought this 2017 planner/diary by ROCO was more on the drier side, aesthetic wise. As you may have seen me express on Instagram, hahah! 😅
I think I judged too soon, and for that, dear planner (yes, I am speaking to an inanimate object) and friends, I dearly apologize 🙏.
All things planners and stationery have quickly become one of my favourite things in life.
How and why I got my first planner, what planner I use now, which one I will use next year… aka my planner story/journey is a topic I’d love to share more on sometime soon. But, for now, that background commentary will have to wait. Time is ticking and I thought I should quickly pop in here just in time to share with you all the fantastic finds on the market as another year approaches!
If you are looking for graphic design programs that cater to females in Jeddah, here is a regularly updated list sharing various programs available in the city for those seeking to pursue the field.
Assalam alaykum everyone!
Hope you are having a wonderful start to the week ahead!
It’s here! 🎉
A post with all the details on our little book club. It’s been a long time coming and I’m glad to finally be able to share everything.
Dua is such a beautiful experience. Yet I find myself not giving it it’s true due. Sometimes I’m at a loss for words, and sometimes I cease to reflect on it’s true essence and realize that it’s far more than just a few spoken words.
Sometime last year, I came across this tweet from Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan.
I already had “Fortress of the Muslim” so, naturally my attention went on to search what “Accepted Whispers” was about and where I could get it.
Alhamdullilah, after getting my hands on it- I couldn’t be more grateful. It’s an absolute must-have for any one looking to ‘upgrade’ their dua so to speak. It has the most beautiful duas. Ones that you hear the Imams of Makkah make during Ramadan. If you have ever listened to those duas and thought “Sigh, I wish I could make dua like that”- look no further. Words are not enough to describe the beauty and blessing of this book.
The duas are organised into daily readings as per the days of a week which makes it incredibly user-friendly and ensures a complete reading thereby not missing a single dua. The translation and commentary is also one of the definite highlights of the book as it enables the seeker to dive into the wisdom and essence of the words spoken.
The first two sections of the book (“Introduction”, “Prayer and It’s Etiquettes”) introduced me to the concept of dua in such a succinct yet thorough way that it made me feel as though I’ve been making dua the wrong way my whole life.
I love this book and am so grateful to Allah that He introduced me to it. I’ve been meaning to share this with my Muslim readers and am so glad that I finally am able to do so.

(Note: This is an older version of the book- without the introductory and commentary sections I believe. Regardless, it should be of benefit inshaAllah ❤ )

Take care and have a blessed day.
The Prophet didn’t withhold his cheerfulness from anyone.
The humanness of the Prophet ﷺ was an elevating, radiant humanness.
Read Prophetic description (shama’il) before his biography (sira).
If we understand the Prophetic description (shamail), we can understand his life events (sira).
The Prophet: you don’t know him. If you knew him, you would love him–and your hearts would be full of this love.
The Prophet (peace be upon him): it is enough to realize that he is the Beloved of Allah.
Be beautiful people: live the Beauty of the Prophet ﷺ
Looking for a concise reading on the shamail of the Beloved of Allah, Sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam? Then this book by Dr. Aid Al Qarni might be just what you are looking for.
My prophet (sallAllahu alaihi wasallam) was born this month, alhamdulillah. A mercy, blessing and guide for mankind. Instead of debating the Mawlid, I ask myself: am I upholding his blessed Sunnah, am I doing justice to his legacy, am I seeking to know and love him as I should, every day of the year? May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. ❤

There’s a big difference between talking about love and experiencing love.
I don’t want to hear talk of love of the Prophet ﷺ. I want to see lovers walking and living that love.

I came across this wonderful reading when we had to read a book on the Seerah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alahi wa sallam) for our book club meeting. I had initially decided to read the biography written by Martin Lings but due to time constraints I decided to go ahead in search of a comprehensive but succinct description on the life of our Prophet.
I couldn’t be happier for happening to stumble upon this specific one. The book is entitled “Muhammad As If You Can See Him” and written by the well known Dr. Aid Al-Qarni. He is also author of the ever so popular and one of my favourite books ever- “Don’t Be Sad”.
The book consists of only about 171 pages, which forms the main content of the book.
Dr. Al-Qarni uses simple, but beautiful and powerful ways to describe the various qualities of the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) in this work. He starts by briefly going over the story of Prophet hood. After that, each section of the book pertains to describing one quality (among many) of the Prophet. The various qualities include his patience, his truthfulness, his generosity, his Zuhd, bravery, humbleness, mercy, laughter, and so on. For someone who wants to know how the Prophet was in a certain aspect, they can look it up in the contents and go straight to that particular section, making the organisation of the book very user-friendly and also very helpful for any second or third reads in the same manner.
This book is now one of my favourite books I have ever read. I wished it could go on more, to learn more new things about the Prophet that I had never known before, and work on increasing my love for him. For, whatever Rasul Allah (Sallalahu alaihi wasallam) has done for us, we can never repay him. Except by loving and emulating him in all aspects of our lives. Even that would be less, for it would only contribute to our own well-being and in our relationship with Allah subhanahu wa taala.
I loved it because it truly made me know my Prophet “as if I can see him”. You can feel the Dr.’s love of the Prophet himself which aids the reader in loving the Prophet as well (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam).
I learned so many new things about the beautiful and perfect character of the Prophet. Reading each quality makes one feel so intimate to the Prophet, and long to be with him more than ever. Although each and every quality is to be loved and learned from, one of the qualities which stunned me to an amazing manner was his generosity. Perhaps it impacted me so immensely because it is something deficient in myself which I need to work on.
The entire book seems like a mirror to check myself with. To emulate the Prophet, his tremendous character and perfect example with.
This book will give a wonderful insight into the life of the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) for all the Muslims. After reading this, one’s desire to learn more about him increases to a degree higher than ever before.
I wish to share so much more about my thoughts on the book, but there is only so much I can write here in one post. Reading the book itself alone can truly make one feel the beauty of its contents.
May Allah subhanahu wa taala bless us with the Sunnah in all its inward and outward dimensions, and may He increase the love for the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) in our hearts more than all of mankind. Ameen.
